Tacky the Penguin with Pre-kindergartner Chris Barcroft

“Old Man Winter” has truly blown in to ECE’s pre-kindergarten classes with a blizzard of fabulous activities. To celebrate God’s season of cold weather with a “Winter Wonderland Day,” Pre-K children wore mittens, hats and scarves, ate snowflake cookies, drank hot chocolate, enjoyed glow-in-the-dark ice skating and a sight-word snowball fight, where children pick up a crumpled piece of paper (snowball) and unfold it to read a sight word!

Mrs. Kristy Howell’s class had a special stuffed animal that is also a book character visit her class. “Tacky the Penguin,” from the book series by Lynn Musinger, waddled in to enjoy counting, singing, letters and sounds, art, and playtime during the day. At night, students took turns hosting Tacky in their home for a sleepover. Student Chris Barcroft said about the sleepover, “Tacky did belly flops on my bed, and he snores!”

Don’t you wish Tacky could come home with you? Pre-K is “snow” much fun!
