A new addition to the Liberty landscape already holds a special place in our hearts. New to Liberty this year is the SADD Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions.
SADD has made their biggest contributions thus far to the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Denton. With a big thanks to the Liberty family, SADD recently collected six large boxes of diapers and wipes for the women who seek assistance at the center. SADD members also volunteer once a month at the center’s resale shop in Denton, Twice as Nice.
The Crisis Pregnancy Center of Denton saw more than 1,400 women last year, and they gave $41,280 worth in supplies, baby gifts, and donations.
Their services are offered at no cost and include pregnancy tests, pregnancy counseling, relationship education, childbirth classes, parenting education, maternity and infant assistance, sonograms, and more.
In addition to working with the Crisis Pregnancy Center, SADD has designated a Tree of Light that is prominently lit in the entrance to the Front Circle. Representing Jesus’ light that shines down upon our Argyle campus, the SADD students plan bimonthly devotions and regular prayer meetings around the tree.
SADD students have also put together a rewards system for drivers caught wearing their seatbelts as they enter the school parking lot in the morning.
SADD has made a small yet strong start for their new organization that holds great hope for the future.
