Lower School Earns Superior Award at Math Olympics
Liberty’s Lower School students in third through fifth grades successfully competed at the 2010 Area Math Olympics Competition held recently at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano.
Each student competed in a series of four rounds of testing in either the “Computation” or “Reasoning” category.
“Our students performed with such excellence that they each received a Superior Award!” said Amy Funderburk, fifth grade teacher.
Parent volunteer Julie Barber said, “It was so great to watch our kids compete at this level, and be so comfortable with it.
“You could definitely tell that our kids were prepared, and Amy Funderburk and the entire Lower School staff should take great pride in the fact that our kids are prepared in math to compete.”
