Students Prepare for Easter with Cross Exam

Starting this Monday, Liberty will hold chapels each morning before the Easter holiday for Middle and Upper School students. This annual 3-day chapel experience is known as Cross Examination. These chapels remind students of Christ’s sacrifice and the wonderful gift given to all. Cross Exam allows students a chance to reflect on their lives and examine whether or not they are living for Christ.

Cross Examination prepares students’ hearts for spiritual renewal as they head into Easter weekend. The week challenges students to grow deeper in their faith. Upper School Principal Ed Cook notes that Cross Exam “is a marvelous opportunity for the kids to get right with the LORD – maybe for the first time.” Cross Exam serves as a spiritual time where the Spirit of God moves in incredible ways.

On the last day of chapel, students will have the opportunity to write down sins they are struggling with in their lives and nail them to a cross. Each year during Cross Exam, several students share their hearts with their peers and attest to how God has faithfully brought them through the trials and tribulations in their lives.

Jeff Johnson, worship leader for the Texas A&M Breakaway ministry, is returning this year to lead the worship for Cross Exam.
