Grandparent’s Day Promises to Make Memories in Early Childhood and Lower School this Week
Liberty Christian School’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Lower School will host Grandparent’s Day this week.
“It’s the highlight of the year,” said Lower School Principal Karen Watts. “Being a grandparent myself, it blesses me to see grandparents with their grandchildren on this very special day.”
The ECE Grandparent’s Day is this Wednesday, March 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. For the first time ever, Liberty’s Upper School Chorale will begin the program. Anna Joyner, ECE principal, was inspired to include Chorale in the program when she spent time with them and heard them sing in Ireland on Liberty’s mission trip during Spring Break.
Marcy Nicklas, Lower School vice principal and ECE director, said Chorale beginning the program will be a great opportunity for grandparents to see what their little ones can become and accomplish at Liberty.
The program also includes a performance from the ECE children, a visit to their classrooms, and searching for eggs with them in an Easter egg hunt. ECE is expecting more than 200 grandparents this year.
Liberty President and Co-Founder Rodney Haire will open the Lower School Grandparent’s Day on Thursday, April 1.
Lower School’s program begins in the auditorium with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed at 9 a.m. with Dr. Haire’s welcome, student performances, and visits to the classrooms. The day concludes at 11:45 a.m.
Grandparent’s Day is a wonderful family experience here at Liberty. It will be an honor to welcome and host Liberty grandparents on campus this week.
