Middle School Students Contend in Science and Engineering Fair
Eight Warriors represented Liberty at the Texas Science and Engineering Fair in San Antonio, April 10–12.
“Their hard work and creative research competed well against 1,300 other projects from around the state,” said Heather Lytle, science department chair.
Sample projects from Liberty students included “How do different solvents affect elasticity,” “What ratio of fertilizer is the most effective for green plants,” and “Which type of foot insoles provides the best comfort?”
“This was a memorable ending to another wonderful year of science fairs at Liberty,” said Lytle.
Students made the most of their trip to San Antonio by reliving history and visiting the Alamo.
Middle School students who competed in the fair were Brooke Hadley, Ian Harrington, Sarah Jaderlund, Paige Jeary, Ashley Jenkins, Michael King, Jack Lytle, and Brian Ogden.
Lytle added, “Our Division B Science Olympiad Team has been invited to participate in the State Science Olympiad, April 23 and 24, at Texas A&M University – good luck Warriors!”
In other science news, the ninth grade biology students travel this weekend to Lady Bird Johnson’s Wildflower Center in Austin to work on their wildflower collections. More to come…
