Sophomores Kara Vogelzang and Lizzy Robinson played against the No. 2 seed in the state tournament, and they were so close to taking a victory over the opponents. They won the first set 6-4, lost the second set 4-6, and lost in a tiebreaker 4-10.

“These two had a tremendous season, and I am very proud of them,” said head tennis coach Chase Hardin, his first as head coach at Liberty.

Seniors Josh Fischer and Tyler Parent lost in the semifinals to Parish Episcopal, a team they had beat earlier in the season.

“Josh and Tyler played well, and I believe their success is far from over,” Hardin said.
