Track Team Competes in State Meet this Weekend
The state track meet is this weekend in Waco, Texas. On the track team, many of the boys qualified to compete, as well as seven girls.
Girls head coach Jamie Michalek said, “Girls TAPPS 4A is very competitive this year, so getting seven athletes to the state meet is a big accomplishment for these girls.”
The team will compete in field events on Friday and running events on Saturday.
“As a team, we hope to bring home some points to add to the overall total for the top school in TAPPS 4A running,” Michalek said.

The girls who are advancing to state are:
Junior Rachel Albert – 3200-meter
Sophomore Sophie Asprey – 800-meter
Sophomore Sydney Brynn – 3200-meter and 1600-meter
Sophomore Abby Deaver – pole vault
Sophomore Kelsie Finch – shot put
Senior Ashley Kowalewski – pole vault
Freshman Landra Young – high jump
