2010-2011 Parent Orientation – Don’t Miss It!

Dear Parents of ECE through 12th Grade Students:
The new school year will start soon! I hope you are enjoying your summer and have had time for relaxation and family fun.
One of the most important and beneficial meetings of the year is Parent Orientation. It is for parents only, and it is the only required meeting for all parents each year. It is one of the few times for the entire Liberty family to come together, and it is a great way to start the school year. At the information tables, which are open for browsing before the meeting, you will get a glimpse of many of the wonderful activities around campus, such as student clubs and ministries, Warrior Club, Advancement, Warrior Wear from the LC Shoppe, and lots more.
Orientation will begin in the auditorium and conclude with a visit to your children’s classroom(s). For parents who have children in the sixth through 12th grades, you will follow their schedule and spend about 10 minutes in each of their classes. You will receive a syllabus for the course and begin to establish the important relationship between you and their teachers.
Monday, August 16
- Orientation for Parents of Ninth – 12th Grade Students
Student schedules will be available in your individual packet at the check-in table. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Orientation begins at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, August 17
- Orientation for Parents of ECE and Kindergarten – Fifth Grade Students
Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and orientation begins at 7 p.m., followed by a visit to your child’s classroom. For your convenience, there will be childcare provided by the LCS Cheerleaders beginning at 6:15 p.m. Cost is $13 per child or $25 per family. Wednesday, August 18
- Orientation for Parents of Sixth – Eighth Grade Students
Student schedules will be available in your individual packet at the check-in table. Doors open at
6:15 p.m. Orientation begins at 7 p.m.
Thursday, August 19
- Partners Through Faith (PTF) Play Date for ECE and Kindergarten Students
Bring your preschool and pre-kindergarten students to the ECE playground, and your kindergarten students to the Lower School playground, for a fun hour from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. You will have the opportunity to visit with teachers and other parents while the children play with new friends.
- Open House for ECE and Lower School
Open House is from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the format is “come and go.” Attendance at this event is optional, but it is so valuable for your child. It is a great time for the students to meet their teachers, bring supplies, and learn new routines before the first day of school.
- Meet the Warrior Night and PTF Ice Cream Social at approximately 8 p.m. (after the game)
Home Football Scrimmage – Fort Worth Christian vs. LCS
If you are unable to attend orientation on the night scheduled for your child’s grade, you may attend on another night. However, it is very beneficial for you to attend on the appropriate night(s) for your children to meet their teachers and receive their class schedule and other important information, so please make every effort to do so.
One of Liberty’s greatest blessings is that the Lord consistently and faithfully provides fantastic faculty and staff members for us. We have the most wonderful group of teachers, coaches, and other professionals, and your children are the beneficiary of that blessing. We are so pleased that approximately 96 percent of the students who attended last year have re-enrolled for this year. Your partnership and commitment to the Liberty family is a blessing for all.
