Volleyball Wins in District Opener
Lady Warriors volleyball swept Fort Worth Nolan Catholic, 25-17, 25-16, 25-16, in its TAPPS district opener on Thursday night at Liberty.
Junior Ashley Prince led the Lady Warriors (17-6, 1-0) with 15 kills and five blocks, while junior Betsy Smith had nine kills, five aces and 18 digs. Junior Sophie Asprey posted 30 assists.
The varsity volleyball team has fought for and enjoyed success early in this season, including defeating Denton Ryan earlier this week, taking second in the Argyle Invitational, and third in the North Texas Classic.
Head coach Lisa Deaver is very optimistic about this season. “I like where we are,” she said. “I think we are going to be very competitive.”
Next week, the Lady Warriors play at Bishop Lynch on Tuesday and at home against Prestonwood on Thursday.
