In preparation for its Sunflower tour and state competition, Chorale will sing in concert at Liberty this Friday, March 25, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. All Liberty families are invited.

“We consider ourselves ministers of music,” said Ann Smith, Chorale director. “Each singer to some degree or another is being used by our Heavenly Father to touch the heartstrings of His great creation.”

Smith said Chorale has been preparing for this time all year, and the students look forward to singing to their “home crowd” before they perform and sing on the road next week to people they do not know.

On the tour to Wichita, Kansas, Chorale will also serve as it helps the Kansas Regional Food Bank to repackage food for people in need.

“In addition, our seniors will serve at the Lord’s Diner, a homeless shelter,” said Smith.

Also on Monday, Chorale will visit Friends University and hold a music clinic and perform.

On Tuesday, Chorale will tour Kansas State University and rehearse with the Kansas State University choir. Chorale will also have the opportunity perform with the Kansas State choir.

“We will sing first, followed by the Kansas State choir, and then we will all sing together ‘My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord,’” said Smith.

The choir will return to Liberty on Wednesday before traveling to Belton, Texas, on April 8 to compete in the music state championship.

This Friday’s concert for families will be a wonderful way to begin this exciting time in the life of Liberty’s Chorale, as it prepares to perform, learn, and serve on its tour next week.
