Track and Field Takes First at Meet

The Warriors varsity track and field, the TAPPS 4A state champion last year, won first place winner in Saturday’s Lobo Club Invitational Track Meet in Little Elm.  

“Our varsity won by more than 50 points, and our JV finished second overall,” said head coach Trent Vest. “We earned points in almost every event. In most events, we placed more than one athlete. Our kids improved in almost every area. We had some very impressive performances, and we are very excited about the future of this track team.” 

Listed below are the results:

Long Jump: senior Corey Dodd 21’1” and sophomore Foster Ford 20’6” 

Triple Jump: sophomore Foster Ford 42’3.5” and senior Corey Dodd 42’2.5”

Shot Put: senior Lance Kay 47’3” and freshman Brad Lundblade 46’5”

Discus: senior Lance Kay 136’10”, senior Chris Ocasio 134’2”, and freshman Brad Lundblade 121’10”

800m Run: sophomore Dereck Woodcock 2:06

110m Hurdles:  sophomore Christian Burks 15.81 and junior Ryan Wilkerson 15.92

100m Dash: senior Trevor Simms 10.75 (very close to the school record) and senior Brett Metzler 11.18 

200m Dash: senior Trevor Simms 22.10 (very close to the school record) and senior Jared Lawson 22.79

1600m Run: sophomore Dereck Woodcock 4:47

Liberty hosts the Warrior Relays this Friday and Saturday, and Liberty families are invited to come and cheer for the home team!
