Students Compete at Science Olympiad

Thirty Liberty Christian science students competed at the Regional Science Olympiad on Saturday, March 26, at North Lake College. During the day, pairs of students vied in different events such as “Storm the Castle,” “Science of Crime Busters,” and “Chem Lab.” 

“It was a great day!” said Heather Lytle, Liberty’s science department chair. 

Liberty ribbon winners for the day include the following: 

Third Place – Wildflowers: Emma Washburn and Lynzi Rojas
Second Place – Compute This: Jason Clemons and Tiffany Lu
First Place – Battery Buggy: Jack Lytle and Scott Douglass
First Place – Crime Busters: Scott Douglass and Maddie Ramirez
Third Place – Egg Drop: Todd Deetjen and Jackson Hart
Second Place – Optics: Jason Clemons and Jack Lytle
Fourth Place – Bio Blitz: Mason Shanahan and Christian Palmer
First Place – Write It/Do It: Jason Clemons and Jack Lytle
Third Place – Microbe Mission: Nevan Simone and Rusty Vittrup
Second Place – Wind Power: Marissa Marrs and Sarah Robison
Third Place – Forensics: Colby Edson and Cole Carrick
Fourth Place – Bio Blitz: Jordan Sharp and Chris Svatik
