Commended Scholars Alexandra McMillan and Austin Hudelson

Liberty Christian students Austin Hudelson and Alexandra McMillan have been named Commended Students in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Upper School Principal Ed Cook said, “Liberty is especially proud of Austin and Alexandra in their recent achievement. These two students have distinguished themselves in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. Students at Liberty, like Austin and Alexandra, are continually challenged by the academic rigor and great teachers preparing them for a collegiate future.”

Hudelson, who was a NASA Aerospace Scholar last summer, is applying to Rice University. McMillan has been accepted to the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science.

Commended Students place among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2012 competition by taking the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

A spokesperson from NMSC said, “The young men and women being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. We hope this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”

Liberty Christian congratulates Hudelson and McMillan and wishes them great success in the years ahead.
