Homecoming Court Announced for 2011-2012
Liberty Christian School is proud to announce its homecoming king, Josh Levinson, and homecoming queen Madeline Manning. They, along with the freshmen, sophomore, and junior court, were announced Friday, Sept. 30, at Liberty’s homecoming football game.Josh Levinson is the son of Bruce and Tracy Levinson. He plays soccer and is a member of the chapel band. He attends Gateway Church, and enjoys writing music and playing guitar. Levinson plans to attend Abilene Christian University and study advertising. His life verse is Psalm 139:8–10.
Madeline Manning is the daughter of Dan and Suzanne Manning. She has been on mission trips to Africa, India, China, Guatemala, Ireland, and Mexico. She also teaches 5 and 6 years olds at her church and serves as student council president and an editor of the yearbook. She would like to attend Texas A&M University to become a pediatric trauma nurse and ultimately be a missionary. Her life verse is Romans 12:2.
Other candidates for homecoming king were Tim Douglass, Adam Hawkins, and Daniel Loch. Other candidates for queen were Abby Deaver, Rachel Gilliland, and Lindsey Grigg.
The junior prince is Dereck Woodcock, and junior princess is Katelynn Pearson.
Dereck Woodcock is the son of Jim and Lisa Woodcock. He is the captain of the cross country team and is the president of SADD. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, and is a leader in the Upper School mentoring program for Middle School students called Impact. His life verses is Philippians 3:12–14.
Katelynn Pearson is the daughter of Sparky and Carrie Pearson. Pearson is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and the theatre group, Encore. She also serves as the SADD vice president and is also an Impact leader. Her life verse is 1 John 3:18–20.
Other nominees for junior prince were Matthew Jeffery and Zechariah Liszewski, and other nominees for princess were Emmy Edwards and Paige Woodall.
The sophomore duke is Michael King, and sophomore duchess is Hanna Elsey.
Michael King is the son of Jeff and Cathie King. King serves as vice president of Key Club and plays Warrior baseball. He enjoys playing guitar, drums, and singing in a band. His life verse is Hebrews 11:11.
Hanna Elsey is the daughter of John and Kate Elsey. Hanna plays volleyball and soccer and is a member of SADD and Key Club. Her life verse is Exodus 14:14.
Other candidates for sophomore duke were Benn Hawkins and Gavin Menichini, and other candidates for sophomore duchess were Macy Manning and Whitney Sanders.
The freshman lord is Tobyn Steffey, and freshman lady is Caroline Stephens.
Tobyn Steffey is the son of Ron and Angelia Steffey. Steffey serves as president of the freshman class and plays football, basketball, and baseball for the Warriors. He also participates in track. His life verse is Isaiah 40:31.
Caroline Stephens is the daughter of Glenn and Cheryl Stephens. Stephens plays soccer and volleyball for the Warriors and serves as the SADD representative for her class. She also enjoys teaching a teen girls Bible study and serving in the children’s ministry at her church. Her life verse is 1 Timothy 4:12.
Other candidates for freshman lord were Jordan Brown and Cole Irwin, and other nominees for freshman lady were Paige Jeary and Hannah Liszewski.
Helping with the crowning ceremony this year was the 2010 homecoming king, Nick Edwards, who attends the University of Oklahoma, and the 2010 homecoming queen, Mary Varnell, who attends Samford University in Alabama.
