Liberty Christian honored retiring faculty member Dr. Martin Noto and his 25 years of service at a reception last Wednesday, Nov. 2.

Noto was first hired in 1987 as a history teacher. He later served as the school’s principal, and in his most recent role, he led staff development.

At his reception, more than 20 of his colleagues and former students spoke about how Noto touched their heart. Also attending the reception was Noto’s wife, Elaine, his son and daughter-in-law, and his pastor.

It was announced at the reception that the Christian Leadership Academy at Liberty would be named after Noto, as well as the new black box theater that will be built at Liberty this year.

To show his appreciation, Dr. Rodney Haire, president of Liberty, presented Noto with a laptop, something Noto had always wanted.

During Noto’s years of teaching, he had always blessed students with the priestly blessing in Numbers 6:24–26 that says, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Those at the reception concluded the evening with blessing Noto with those very words that he had said hundreds of times to students and faculty in his years of service to Liberty.
