Students Win Second in Regional One-Act Play Contest
Liberty Christian students performed “Talking Pictures” in regional competition at Liberty last Saturday and took second place.
Students Ross Earley, Emmy Edwards, Catherine Harrington, Lauren Massing, and Katelynn Pearson were awarded All-Star Cast, and Ian Harber, Gabby Marye, and Malyn Porter were awarded Honorable Mention Cast.
Liberty students will perform “Talking Pictures” at the state contest this Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Prince of Peace Christian School in Carrollton.
“Talking Pictures” is a play written by Horton Foote in 1990 set in the town of Harrison, Texas, on the eve of the Depression. Foote was an American playwright and screenwriter perhaps best known for his Academy Award-winning screenplays for the 1962 film “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and 1983 film “Tender Mercies.”
