Student Athletes Prepare to Play at the Collegiate Level
Every student athlete dreams of playing at the college level. Four Liberty seniors recently signed with colleges in a ceremony in the Commons that was filled with college administrators, coaches, families, fellow students, and friends.
Sophie Asprey signed with Tulane University in New Orleans, La., to play sand volleyball. Sydney Brynn committed to Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill., to run cross country. And two girls basketball players from Liberty’s championship team last year, Nicole Kornet and Nia Jackson, signed with the University of Oklahoma and Southern Methodist University respectively.
“It is always rewarding to see hard work, sacrifice, and a determination to do something great become a reality,” said Greg Price, Liberty’s athletic director. “These students have set tough goals and worked very hard to earn this honor. This is an exciting time for their families, teammates, and coaches. Way to go girls!”
Congratulations to these outstanding students!
