Liberty Christian’s academic advisors and several members of the faculty led Liberty’s freshman class on a tour of colleges in Texas to allow them to meet with admissions counselors and learn more about what is expected of them academically in high school and in college.

Students traveled to Texas Tech and Abilene Christian on Feb. 25, and Baylor and Texas A&M on Feb. 26.

“This trip was so worthwhile,” said Lesli Campbell, academic advisor for ninth grade students.

“Our students experienced a glimpse of college life, and saw that all of their hard work in high school will be well worth it.

“The trip was also an opportunity for our students to shine in front of college admission representatives. Our students were amazing!”

This annual tour for Liberty’s ninth grade class gives students a good grasp of what is expected of them in high school to ensure college acceptance. Each college gave the students specific information on the admissions process, course requirements, grade point average, class rank, transcripts, and the importance of leadership, community service, and involvement in student organizations.
