Golf Team Wins Denton High Tournament

Liberty Christian’s junior varsity and ninth grade boys golf teams completed their fall season Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Denton High School JV Tournament.

Liberty’s Navy team won the tournament by one stroke with a team score of 322. Liberty’s Gray team finished in third place overall with a score of 373. Students Michael Goodson and Hunter Muczko entered as medalists and scored 106 and 108 respectively.

Head coach Larry Frank said, “Our Navy team took four of the top eight places awarded to individual scores, with Kyle Lewis shooting in the seventies for the first time in a tournament and winning the low score of the day!”

The first place Navy team included the following players and their scores:

Jacob McAlister, 80, fourth place individual

Blake Harris, 84, seventh place individual

Kyle Lewis, 78, first place individual

John Paul Kosub, 87

Chase Anderson, 80, fifth place individual

The third place Gray team included the following players and their scores:

Matt Crawford, 104

Bret Worley, 85

Brandon Wayman, 95

Jack Jones, 93

Drew Stevens, 100

“This fall season has been a great one for our JV and ninth grade players,” said Frank. “We look forward to the spring season, and our prayer is to improve with the help of the Lord and hard work.”
